Anthony Joshua Stays Focused as Fury Showdown Draws Closer

Anthony Joshua is refusing to celebrate, even with a Tyson Fury fight finally agreed.

“Signing a contract doesn’t mean anything. Winning is the only true success,” Joshua said on Monday.

First Things First
Before the Battle of Britain happens, both fighters have warm-up bouts lined up.

Joshua faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is his first fight since a car accident in Nigeria in December 2025 claimed the lives of two close friends. He has not fought a top opponent since losing to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

Fury, 37, is targeting a warm-up on August 1 in Dublin, Ireland. No opponent has been confirmed yet.

A Fighter With a Plan
Joshua is not looking past anyone. He is simply following a clear road map.

“Give me the opportunity to fight Prenga, give me the opportunity to fight Fury, give me the opportunity to fight for the championship,” he said.

“I’ve got a clear goal. I know how tough this year is going to be. I’ve been training hard – that’s my life.”
