President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe.
The President was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, according to visuals released after his arrival.
Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for the vacation, with London as his first destination. The Presidency had said he would spend three weeks in Europe.
Paris Visit
The Paris leg marks the next stage of Tinubu’s holiday after his stay in London.
The Presidency said the President would return to Nigeria after the working vacation and resume preparations for the January 2027 election.
The President’s absence comes as political activities increase ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The All Progressives Congress has already released its Presidential Campaign Council structure, with Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima listed as chairman and vice chairman.
Tinubu’s Foreign Travel
Paris has become one of Tinubu’s most frequent foreign destinations since he assumed office in May 2023.
According to a tally cited by The PUNCH, the President has visited at least 30 countries through 51 foreign trips.
The publication also reported that Tinubu has spent more than 270 days outside Nigeria during his presidency.
The tally put his international travel at approximately 260,000 nautical miles and more than 400 flight hours.
Tinubu’s latest trip is therefore part of a broader pattern of frequent international travel for official, working and private engagements.
What Happens Next
Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja after completing his three-week European leave.
His return will coincide with preparations for the 2027 presidential campaign and other official engagements.
The Presidency has not announced a detailed schedule for the remainder of his stay in Paris.
