Applications have opened for the 2026 edition of the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, a three-month hybrid programme designed for growth-stage technology startups across the continent.
The accelerator brings together cohorts of 10 to 15 startups, offering a combination of remote and in-person sessions aimed at solving key technical challenges and accelerating business growth. The programme leverages Google’s global resources, including its experts, products, and technology.
During the accelerator, participating founders will work directly with Google engineers and industry specialists to address core technical issues affecting their products. The programme also features workshops and deep-dive sessions focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development.
Selected startups will receive equity-free support, dedicated mentorship, and strategic guidance on product and company growth. Participants will also gain early access to selected Google AI products, as well as eligibility for Google Cloud credits and Cloud TPU resources to support machine learning development.
In addition, startups will benefit from technical bootcamps, one-on-one mentoring, and access to Google’s network of industry experts.
To qualify, startups must demonstrate traction, preferably at the growth stage, and be building scalable products with significant market potential. The programme is particularly targeted at deeply technical startups, especially those leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning. Founders must also commit key technical team members, including CTOs, to participate fully in programme sessions.
Applications for the accelerator close on March 18, 2026. The programme will kick off in April, with participating startups graduating in June 2026.
