The Nigerian film industry has been hit with tragedy following the sudden passing of Nollywood actor Chijioke Nwokafor, popularly known as CJay Nwoks.
The rising screen star passed away on Wednesday at a medical facility in the Badore area of Lagos State, leaving fans, colleagues, and movie lovers in deep shock.
Actress Nkechi Blessing Announces Passing in Emotional Video
The heartbreaking news was broken by popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Nkechi Blessing Sunday, who had cast CJay as the lead actor in her latest film project.
In a tearful video shared across her social media handles directly from the hospital in Badore, the visibly distraught actress announced the cancellation of the film’s scheduled premiere.
“It took me a lot to do this video because we won’t be dropping the movie again,” Nkechi Blessing stated while weeping. “Right now, I’m in the hospital in Badore. I just lost CJay. CJay is dead. I don’t even know where to start.”
The abrupt loss forced an immediate suspension of all promotional activities tied to the project, as the production team and cast members gathered to mourn the late actor.
