Hon. Phrank Shaibu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has been appointed Ambassador and member of the Governing Council of the Pan-African Agenda 2063 by the African Union (AU).
Shaibu officially assumed his role on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Abuja. AU President Ambassador Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel confirmed the appointment in a letter dated November 18, 2025, citing Shaibu’s achievements as an educationist, administrator, academic, and entrepreneur.
Shaibu’s Mandate
The AU highlighted Shaibu’s track record in national development and his service under Nigerian leaders. They appointed him Ambassador Plenipotentiary, a position for leaders whose vision, integrity, and influence match the AU’s mission.
With nearly 30 years of experience in strategic communication, public relations, and crisis management, Shaibu will lead initiatives that advance Agenda 2063’s continental goals.

The Pan-African Agenda 2063 is a 50-year blueprint (2013–2063) to make Africa a global powerhouse. It focuses on:

The initiative, called “The Africa We Want,” prioritizes sustainable development, social cohesion, and prosperity led by African citizens.
Shaibu will help design policies and programs that accelerate progress. His work aims to strengthen Africa’s unity, governance, and long-term economic stability.
