President Bola Tinubu has appointed Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, as Renewed Hope Ambassador and Deputy Director-General for Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.

Tinubu approved the appointment in his capacity as leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The decision takes immediate effect.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the development on Tuesday.

The move comes days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the 2027 general election timetable. Campaigns will begin in November 2026.

Clear Mandate for Party Mobilisation

Tinubu said he chose Sani because of his leadership and organisational strength.

The new deputy director-general will coordinate outreach programmes nationwide. He will work closely with the Renewed Hope Director-General and the APC National Chairman.

His task is clear. He must promote party policies, highlight achievements, and expand grassroots engagement.

Tinubu said preparation remains critical to winning public trust.

“Our goal is to ensure Nigerians understand and support our party and its candidates,” the President wrote in his appointment letter.

Focus on 2027 Strategy

The APC has started early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Political analysts say the appointment signals structured campaign planning. They believe the party wants stronger coordination between governance messaging and political outreach.

INEC has fixed February 20, 2027, for Presidential and National Assembly elections. Governorship and State Assembly polls will follow on March 6.

Why This Matters

Early appointments often shape campaign direction. They also define messaging strategy.

By selecting a sitting governor, Tinubu strengthens internal coordination within the party. The decision may also boost APC’s grassroots structure in northern Nigeria.

Governor Sani has not yet released a detailed response to the appointment.
