Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has once again underlined his dominance in English football after emerging as the Premier League’s top goal scorer so far this season, while Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes leads the assist chart.

As the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign gathers momentum, goals and assists have flowed across the league, setting up an increasingly competitive race for individual honours.

Haaland sits comfortably at the top of the scoring table with 21 goals, reaffirming his reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in world football. The Norwegian has been central to Manchester City’s attacking strength, combining physical presence, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing.

Brentford’s Igor Thiago follows closely with 17 goals, marking one of the standout attacking performances of the season. His consistency has played a major role in Brentford’s strong showing against bigger sides.

In third place is Antoine Semenyo, who has registered 12 goals across stints with Bournemouth and Manchester City. His versatility and pace have made him a constant threat in the final third.

Several players are tied on 10 goals, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Leeds United and Hugo Ekitike of Liverpool, highlighting the spread of attacking contributions across clubs.

Midfielders have also made their presence felt in front of goal. Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimarães, Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Chelsea’s João Pedro are all level on nine goals, reflecting a season where goal-scoring responsibilities are increasingly shared beyond traditional strikers.

A further cluster of players sit on eight goals, including Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Enzo Fernández (Chelsea), Harry Wilson (Fulham), and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), adding to the unpredictability of the Golden Boot race.

Assist Leaders Shape the Title Race

While Haaland dominates the scoring chart, Bruno Fernandes has emerged as the league’s most creative force. The Manchester United midfielder currently leads the assist standings with 12 assists, playing a key role in his side’s attacking build-up and chance creation.

Fernandes’ vision, passing range, and ability to unlock defences have made him indispensable to United’s campaign.

He is followed by Rayan Cherki with seven assists, while Mohammed Kudus, Jack Grealish, Jérémy Doku, and Matheus Nunes are all tied on six assists each.

Haaland himself appears on the assist list with six, underlining his all-round contribution to Manchester City’s attacking play. Chelsea’s João Pedro also shares the same tally.

Rounding out the top ten are Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Martin Ødegaard of Arsenal, both with five assists, continuing their influence as creative leaders for their respective teams.

Season Still Wide Open

With several months of football still to play, analysts expect the goal and assist charts to remain fluid. Injuries, fixture congestion, and title pressure could all shape the final outcome of the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.

However, Haaland’s early lead and Fernandes’ creative dominance have already set the tone for what is shaping up to be one of the Premier League’s most entertaining individual battles in recent seasons.
