President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 presidential election, appointing former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as Secretary of the campaign council.

The Presidency announced the appointments on Saturday in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The council brings together senior APC figures, serving governors, lawmakers, ministers and party officials as the ruling party begins preparations for the 2027 election.

The structure also names Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Temitope Ajayi, Aderonke Arabirin and Frederick Nwabufo as coordinating secretaries.

Tinubu Charges Team to Secure APC Victory

While unveiling the campaign structure, President Tinubu urged members to work together to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election.

He also directed leaders of the various directorates to involve other party members who were not formally included in the council.

The President said the campaign should focus on communicating the administration’s achievements and presenting its economic record to voters.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu told the campaign team to highlight what his administration considers its major achievements while building support across the country.

The APC’s campaign council was constituted shortly after the formal campaign period for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections opened on August 19, 2026. (allAfrica.com)
