The popular Nollywood actress shares how publicizing her conversion to Islam cost her social media followers and business opportunities.
Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she lost a significant number of Christian followers on social media after publicly disclosing her Muslim faith.
The actress shared her experience during a recent media appearance, reflecting on the reaction that followed her choice to openly practice Islam.
Adunni Ade explained that while she was born to a Muslim father and raised in a Christian household, she ultimately made a personal decision to embrace Islam in adulthood.
“When I revealed I was a Muslim, lots of my Christian fans unfollowed me,” Adunni Ade said. “Some even stopped supporting my brand and my work because of my choice.”
She noted that the decision caused temporary friction among certain segments of her fan base and led to a drop in social media engagement.
Despite the initial backlash, the film producer stated that she remains steadfast in her belief and has no regrets about living authentically.
Adunni Ade emphasized that personal spirituality should remain a private connection between an individual and God, urging fans to focus on her creative work rather than her religious affiliation.
