The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its online accreditation portal for journalists and media organisations seeking to cover the 2027 general elections.
The commission announced that the accreditation process began on October 30, 2026, and will close at midnight on December 1.
In a notice issued on Friday, INEC directed interested media organisations to visit https://imap.inecnigeria.org to complete their registration.
The commission warned that it would not accept late applications, adding that the portal would automatically shut down at the stated deadline.
Nigeria’s 2027 general elections will take place in two phases. The Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, while the governorship and Houses of Assembly elections will hold on February 6, 2027.
