Social media personality admits to being influenced by online backlash, asking the Marlian Music boss for forgiveness.
Social media personality and influencer Mandy Kiss has issued a public apology to Nigerian singer and record label executive Naira Marley, expressing regret over her past actions and negative statements targeted at the artist.
The content creator addressed the musician directly in a video posted across her digital platforms, reflecting on her past decisions and explaining the circumstances that led to her public fallout with the singer.
Influencer Cites Youthful Indiscretion and Peer Pressure
In the viral video, Mandy Kiss acknowledged that her previous vocal opposition to the “Soapy” singer was largely fueled by public pressure and widespread social media outrage at the time.
She explained that she acted out of intimidation and joined the prevailing online criticism without having personal insight into the situation, adding that she has since matured and gained a better perspective.
“I am officially apologising to Naira Marley and all the Marlians group,” Mandy Kiss stated in the broadcast. “I was intimidated then to come against Naira Marley, and I did. I want Naira Marley to understand that I was a young lady then, but I am well matured now. I am really sorry Naira Marley, please forgive me.”
The public apology comes after Mandy Kiss made headlines in late 2023 when she publicly removed a thigh tattoo featuring Naira Marley’s face—a gesture she had initially made as a dedicated fan—amid intense online backlash surrounding former Marlian signee Mohbad’s passing.
Social Media Audience Divided Over Apology
The apology video has triggered widespread debate across digital platforms, drawing varied responses from fans, music enthusiasts, and online commentators.
While some users urged Naira Marley and his team to accept her statement and show forgiveness, others expressed skepticism regarding the timing of her change of heart, suggesting the public plea was an attempt to regain online relevance.
Naira Marley and representatives of Marlian Music have not publicly responded to the apology video as of the time of reporting.
The incident continues to generate conversation across social media circles, highlighting the long-term impact of viral public fallouts on digital creators and public figures within the Nigerian entertainment space.
