Concern has spread across Nigeria’s gospel music community following social media reports claiming that gospel singer Toluwanisings has died.
Lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and comedian Woli Agba have reacted to the reports, while the circumstances surrounding the development remain unclear.
Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), expressed concern in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
Sharing a photograph of the singer, he appealed for God’s mercy and lamented what he described as the loss of young lives.
“My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings,” he wrote.
He added: “I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us. We say no to untimely death!”
Woli Agba Calls For Prayers
Meanwhile, comedian Woli Agba urged the public not to reach conclusions about the reports, saying prayers were ongoing.
In a message shared on his social media page, he wrote: “Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please.”
Gospel singer Boyebest also responded to the comedian’s message, expressing faith and hope for a positive outcome.
“Yes yes yes. Yeah I have faith in God. I do. God you’ll do this one,” he commented.
The reactions followed the circulation of reports about Toluwanisings on social media, prompting concern among fans and members of the gospel music community.
Singer’s Status Remains Unconfirmed
As of the time of filing this report, the singer’s death had not been independently confirmed, and details surrounding the reports remained unclear.
The development has also drawn attention to an earlier report that Toluwanisings escaped an accident months ago.
Further confirmation from the singer’s family, management or an authorised representative would be needed to establish his current status.
