The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its Eagle Response Team stationed at Cappa responded to the crash after receiving a distress call at about 3:18 p.m.

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said preliminary findings indicated that the tipper driver lost control of the truck before it collided with the motorcycle from behind.

LASEMA said the motorcycle passenger, whose identity had not been released, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The agency said responders recovered the deceased at the scene and handed over the remains to family members who were present.
The response operation involved personnel from LASEMA, its Lagos Response Unit paramedics, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Nigeria Police Force.
The agencies worked together to manage the scene, assist with the recovery operation and prevent the crash from causing further disruption along the busy expressway.
