The German coach replaces Fatih Tekke and returns to Turkish football after his spell with Samsunspor.
Turkish club Trabzonspor have appointed German coach Thomas Reis as their new manager following the departure of Fatih Tekke earlier this month.
The 52-year-old manager has signed a two-year contract with the Black Sea club, running through the 2027–28 season.
According to the club’s announcement, Reis will earn €1 million during the 2026–27 season and €1.2 million in the 2027–28 campaign.
Reis previously managed Turkish side Samsunspor, where he gained experience in the Turkish Süper Lig. He most recently worked with Bulgarian club Ludogorets before moving to Trabzonspor.
His appointment follows Trabzonspor’s decision to part ways with Tekke on September 1 after discussions about the club’s future.
Trabzonspor recently suffered a 1–0 defeat against Konyaspor and are scheduled to face Galatasaray on Saturday.
The club strengthened its squad during the previous transfer window with the signings of former Liverpool players Mohamed Salah and Fabinho.
Reis will now begin preparations for his first match as Trabzonspor manager as the club seeks to improve its results and compete for its season objectives.
